An investigation is underway in Fort Portal after a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier allegedly shot and killed two of his colleagues.
Corporal Avugo Lomuro, who was attached to the Mountain Division Signal Department as a member of the Airforce Evacuation Component, is reportedly on the run after the shooting incident that occurred on Thursday night. A female soldier was also injured during the altercation.
The UPDF deputy spokesperson, Colonel Deo Akiiki, has condemned the shooting and assured the public that efforts are being made to locate and apprehend Corporal Lomuro.
According to Col. Akiiki, a report was received regarding the incident involving Corporal Avugo Lomuro, who fatally shot two of his colleagues and injured another whose identity is being withheld in accordance with UPDF reporting policies.
He has stated that the suspect will definitely be brought to the book to answer for his crimes.
