The Police in Mbarara City are hunting for a 26 year-old-man only identified as Saidi, a resident of Katete central Cell, Katete ward in Mbarara City south division who killed his wife Phiona Ninsiima, 22 years.
Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson, SP Samson Kasasira said on Wednesday that Saidi the husband of the deceased developed a misunderstanding with his lover, stabbing her in the right side of the stomach before leaving her body in a pool of blood in their rented single room in Katete cell, Katete ward, Mbarara City south division on Tuesday at around 11PM.
Kasasira further revealed that the incident resulted from a misunderstanding between the two after Saidi accused the deceased of having extramarital affairs.
By press time the body of the deceased was conveyed to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary for a postmortem report as efforts to apprehend the prime suspect are underway.
