President Museveni expressed anger over the poor road condition his convoy took on the way to the Kaweweta Recruit Training School in Nakaseke, where he was scheduled to pass out 9,690 Local Defence Personnel.
“Are these making a road or a swimming pool? If you make a road and don’t put drainage channels, the road will become a swimming pool when it rains. I will have to deal with the one involved.” Museveni said.

The road, which Museveni compared to a swimming pool due to its lack of drainage channels, prompted him to vow to take action against those responsible if it was not immediately fixed.
This is not the first time the president has publicly criticized the quality of social goods and services delivered to the people of Nakaseke. In 2021, while travelling to Ngoma, he expressed disappointment with the Ministry of Energy for procuring small electricity poles that he deemed inadequate.
Museveni’s dissatisfaction with the poles led to the transfer of Dr. Mary Goretti Kitutu to Karamoja and the decision not to reappoint Eng Irene Muloni to a cabinet position.
